Today, the concentration of CO2 is 40% higher than when industrialization started and it’s only getting worse. In 2022, there were 36.6 billion tons of CO2 produced, a 6% rise from 2020-2021. There is no doubt about it –– to save our planet CO2 must be removed.

Methane:
The More Potent Pollution
According to the EPA, Methane makes up 11% of the atmosphere’s pollution versus 78% of CO2. However, its ability to trap more heat in the atmosphere makes it 25 times as potent as carbon dioxide. This means that if we don’t act quickly, Methane could be responsible for warming the environment the most in the next 10 years. This also presents an opportunity: reducing methane as the most effective way to reduce climate change risks in the near term. We must commit to a full-scale effort of cutting methane.
